<HTML>Some time back there was a spirited discussion on this TV series. I learned today in the LA times of the death of Carwood Liptin 81, a member of Easy Company of the 101st Airborne Division. By the age of 25 he had been awarded 3 Bronze Stars and 3 purple Hearts as well as a battlefield commmision. There are now only 19 surviving members of Easy Company. His recollections and memoirs contributed to the book and TV series plus he was on site when the series was being filmed.
Personally, 'having been there and done that,' I can attest that in my judgement this TV series has to be one of the finest but more important realistic WW 2 war documentaries ever filmed.Thank you Carwood for your service.
regards to all, Ralph</HTML>
