Das Boot era

Ok guys, this has (like everything else in Das Boot) probably been talked about before on this forum, but I just watched my video of Das Boot again this weekend after a long hiatus.

The movie is supposedly set in late 1941, but given the intense odds the U-boats faced, it 'felt' to me to be later, more typical of a u-boat's experience in early / mid 1943.

Thoughts?
