This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

Watched the film tonight on AMC, for about the 10th time. Then I did a search on this site and read all the comments. Odd, the greatest interest was in reference to, "the song".
This is a great movie!! It is not about U-boats or American destroyers, it is about men and war. Nothing more should be made of it and the technical errors should be ignored. Sort of a nautical, "All Quiet on the Western Front", in my opinion.
Good entertainment and great acting by Jurgens and Mitchum.
No need for comments, just thought I'd make an observation.
PS: My reference to "All Quiet on the Western Front" brought to mind another great book. "The Forgotten Soldier", by whom I am afraid I cannot recall. A WW II sequel to AQOTWF. I encourage all to read it.
