<HTML>Re: the anti-war thing. It was well documented that the director of \"Das Boot\" was trying to get across an anti-war message through this film (as he did with the subsequent film \"Stalingrad\") rather than glorify the war. The futility of war is depicted in the seemingly senseless death of the crew and the destruction of their boat during what should be a happy homecoming after their grueling ordeal at sea.

Hello Kim,
Imagine the inside of a U-boat, I don\\\'t thing that they would secure their plates or mugs, etc, or how can you secure your matrasse?
2nd, imagine your self in a German U-boat and you come across a destroyer, would you be calm as if you have to come across with a fishing trawler?
What does the anti-war film thing has to do with what you are posting?
