<HTML>Could someone please answer/translate/claify the following:

1-When Jurgens plays the record to encourage the crew, what is the complete English wording sung? For that same song in the movie what would the exact translation to German be? (NOT the original words for Der Alte Desaurrer). Is there any evidence the the screenplay writer conferred with someone knowledgeable about La Rochelle in choosing the melodie and in creating his own wording for it?

2-When Jurgens orates at Heine's funeral, what are the exact German words he speaks? What is the exact translation into English? (If any, is there an origin to the prayer, church origination? or German Naval origination, etc.?)

3-In the book, Heine's surname is spelled Schwachofer, and in the movie it is pronounced "Schwaffer". Is "Schwaffer" the correct pronunciation to the surname used in the book?

4-Are there any U-Boat commanders still living who actually welcome courteous inquiries?

Thank you. Edward</HTML>
