I've been trying to do my homework on building a VIIC, and have been reading up on the frame structure of this u-boat. Thanks to the help I have received on here, I've managed to ascertain that the interval of frames on both the hull and saddle tanks were equally spaced apart. Ok thats that sorted. Thanks to all the folk who've helped me out on my enquiry regarding the intervals on the skeletal frame of the hull and saddle tank of the VIICs. Unfortunately one answer seems to raise more questions. The majority of model builds I have seen, indicate that the oil canning effect on the saddle tank was two frames apart. I'm currently working on the correct rivetting/weld lines and subsequent oil caning detail for the U-552 using revell's VIIC kit. Does anyone have any drawings of the skeletal hull/saddle tank structure against which the sheets would have been placed? Thanks
