Hi Above supposition is wrong and i do not know what RCSubs parts are for - and they won't answer my questions. Outer bow doors open simultaneously with tube Muzzle doors. The muzzle door passes behind outer bow door which is stationary at beginning so when fully open, the muzzle door is completely hidden behind open outer bow doors. For more info: Cheers

Hi Outer bow doors opened simultaneously with tube muzzle doors by means of linkage attached to pivot hinge of muzzle door or muzzle door itself. Muzzle door was operated by hand crank from torpedo room. See for more info: Thanks

HI Does anyone have any information on mechanism for how bow doors on Type VIIc were operated? Also looking at photos of type IXc (U-505) the bow doors appear to be capable of sliding forward as they open inwards? This is a different mechanism on type IXc? Thanks

HI all My first post... I am building a Revell U-boat kit and have an after market photo etch kit from RCSubs for Torpedo muzzle hatch details. There are optional shutters included, My understanding is that when muzzle doors were cranked open, the muzzle doors and shutters moved 90 degrees amidships simultaneously...?
