Hi Karen, nice to receive your message, sorry it took so long to reply !!!if your dad was anything like Bill(hearing some of the stories from the older members of my family) they must have had a great time together !! Sadly Bill died on submarine HMS Truculent whilst on trials off the Kent coast in 1950, it was in a collision with a tanker.I meet up with his brother and sisters plus family every

Hi Jim, I am going back to your message on this board in 2008 as i am looking for pictures of bill for his two sisters who don't seem to have many of him so it was nice to pick up on someone who knew him,You proberly know that he lost his life in 1950 on the submarine HMS Truculent in a collision whilst on trials off the Kent coast, please contact on this site again. Hi Tom, I know this is going back a bit as i left a message on this board way back in 2003 !! regarding my fathers brother William Oliver who served aboard HMS Glendhu and recieved the DSM for his part in the action on the U-Boat 1024 in April 1945, his two sisters contacted me as they don't have many pictures of him so i would be very gratful if you could send me any of the pictures mentio
