My Great Uncle was also killed in 1941 and burried in Pembroke. He was a shipwright. My Gran who is 94 still finds it hard to talk about her brother and seems to know very little. She says he died on the ship he helped build, however he was from South Shields and the ship was built in Cowes. Perhaps it went to Tyneside to be completed?
