On Friday, January 15, 2010, Ordinary Seaman Andrew (Andy) Alexander Allen passed away at Lakeridge Medical Centre in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Andrew was a veteran of the Second World War, serving aboard the HMCS Dunver escorting and patrolling the North Alantic. Andrew was my Grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rob Thanks very much for the tip. I was aware of the issue regarding the naming of the vessel. Interesting. Apparently some things never change in the province of Quebec. Regardless, it is an interesting story. I will continue to gather as much information about this ship as I can, and the links you've suggested gives me another jumping off point.
