My grandfather, Lt.Commander R C Richardson. was in command of a sloop, HMS Camellia, in 1917, based in Queenstown. Still in the family is a U-Boat clock, in a heavy brass cas marked Franz Happe, Kiel. On the back of the case is acratched 'UB 22, 1917' The family story is that this clock was given to him for rescuing some of the crew of this boat. This would seem to imply that the boat
