How many helmsman stations are there in any one Type VII or IX? I figured I'd go ahead and ask you guys because I count three stations on a single U-Boat but that means there had to be a guy or two that was off and resting during that time, right?

Thanks Phil...is there a picture or set in there that you'd recommend I go to? Most are "Interrogation of survivor/s", but that implies that they are all there. What happens if 5 guys were killed taking it?

This is why: I'm trying to get a list of the crewmen for all the Type VII and IX boats. I can't find that list ANYWHERE. Take this site for example...if you total up all the men on the boat listed, it comes to 28 for the VIIC. That is, what, 20 short? Who where they? That means that instead of 2 torpedomen they had to have 5 or maybe 6. Instead of 2 machinists they had to have 4.
