This does not concern U-boats directly but on February 14 1941 a Belgian trawler foundered in Iceland, near Vik in Myrdal. The Icelandic papers say her name was George Edward but I haven't been able to find any record of a trawler with name from Belgium. Does anyone here know anything about where I might search for this elusive ship?

On September 12th 1940 or thereabouts the Icelandic trawler Jökull saved a sole survivor from the keel of a rescue boat somewhere around Ireland. He said he had been on a ship with a crew of 50 and after the ship had been torpedoed while he was sleeping he found himself in the sea. A few others had managed to get on the keel of the boat but they were all dead by the time Jökull found the boat. Do
