Some of the Skl naval staff ktb (war diary) are available for download in English but what about the remainder? Where can they be accessed? I am interested in some reports from October/November 1941 skl diary and also an after action report from the Barents sea action which looked at radar use. thanks

There is a good description of metox use and alarm and all that on pages 84-86 of the French version of U-Boote vol 2 vers la defaite by wolfgang frank (originally published in 1950 as Die wolfe und der admiral by jean noli) I am on hol so I can't translate it now. This book was writted in 1948-50 I would guess and the author was close to the U-boat command and so the descriptions are fr

Thank you - I will read that, although being written immediately post-war, I doubt it will assess which of Doenitz and his team were dumb asses reacting to events and which if any had a bit of foresight
