Rainier Thanks for the interpretation of the encounter between the Coamo and U-604. I have read the Captain's log entries and was trying to determine if the Coamo had spotted the sub or was the torpedo the only warning. My uncle who I never knew, Lawrence Anthony Glowczewski was killed on December 2, 1942 when the U-604 sank the ship, the Coamo in the North Atlantic. The Coamo was part of a convoy MKF-3 on that date, but was ordered for some unknown reason by the British Admiralty to leave the convoy and proceed alone.
