Back in 2013, I met a wonderful gentleman named Wolfgang who was the first officer on the U-1165 which saw service between 1944 and 45, based out of Norway. The entire crew survived the war and the boat was scuttled after the war. He had many actual photographs of the boat and crew, especially the Captain & wife.
