Summary

An interesting look at the history of U-505 from its first mission to its capture in 1944 and establishment as a museum in the 1950s. Especially interesting was a 1964 interview on board the U-boat with Daniel Gallery, the man responsible for the boat's capture, and Harald Lange, her last commander. Among the others interviewed were Wayne Pickels and Zenon Lukosius, members of the boarding party who captured the boat, and Wolfgang Schiller, torpedo mechanic on U-505.
