19:23 - U-boat Commander passes away
Vice Admiral Paul Hartwig passed away on 9 March 2014 at the age of 98. He commanded the U-517 for two patrols in 1942 before being captured.
05:27 - Added 1717 people on Allied Ships hit by U-boats in WWII (including Arandora Star and the carrier HMS Courageous). We now have 69,741 people in that database.
