Sunk at 1745hrs on 19 March 1943 in the North Atlantic west of Ireland, in position 54.18N, 26.15W, by depth charges from a British Fortress aircraft (206 Sqn RAF/B). 47 dead (all hands lost). (FDS/NHB, June 1975).

Previously recorded fate

  • Sunk by Sunderland aircraft (RAF 201/T) on 20 March, 1943 in position 54.18N, 26.15W. (Postwar assessment, June 1975)
    Notes. This attack was in fact against U-631 but causing no damage to that boat.

Men lost from U-boats

Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-384 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.
