RE: U-47 Ventilation duct

In the book ENEMY SUBMARINE by FRANK to the right of page 128 is a great shot of PRIEN on the conning tower deck with the 20mm AA gun postioned on the wintergarden deck and on the railing is an MG 34 attached to the railing and a belt of ammo being loaded into the machine gun. Very interesting ,PRIEN must not like noise as in his ears are white tissue as ear plugs !
I also have those pictures of U-86 in that same book but I do not see that large duct on the bridge on the U-47 on the photo next to page 65 in FRANK'S book, maybe it is there but out of sight ? I would not be so fast to compair The U-47 and U-86 as the U-47 was built by GERMANIA WERFT,KIEL and the U-86 FLENDERWERFT,LÃœBECK , different shipyards built their ships differently due to various reasons and this does lead to all the problems today with people asking "this boat has this, why not that boat ".
