No U.S. Navy torpedo warheads had any type of "strerilization"
feature. If they missed their target, and ran out of steam, they just
went to the bottom of the sea and detonated. If the bottom was real
deep, the warhead may have detonated from the excessive sea
pressure, but that has not been proven.
