I have read the (sparse) original accounts on the loss in the National Archives, and it would suggest that she was sunk -

I have not found a loss report for the Industry, but the witness report for the Hunsdon states "the Industry was also torpedoed and sunk"

The local Auxiliary Patrol reported that "at 22.24 Persian Empire reported RFA Industry had been torpedoed and sunk three miles south by east from South Rock. She picked up four survivors and took them to Belfast - Hunsdon also torpedoed"

Finally in Daily Signals/Reports for the day -
a report from Kingstown (Dublin) - "RFA Industry sunk by torpedo approx. 54.23N 05.17W at 22.10 four survivors taken to Belfast" (although this may be a repeat of the info from the local auxiliary patrol.)

The confusion arises because she is not listed in either Lloyds War Losses or in 'British Vessels lost at Sea' - although this is not unique. The naval oiler Vitol, torpedoed in the Irish Sea in March 1918 and the oiler Creosol, sunk in the North Sea in February 1918 are also missing
