<HTML>Steve,
I don\'t think you got my point there. I never disagreed with the possibility. It is not difficult to be driven to the state of mind to do those type of things. Any culture could do it. But there are some that do it more than others. Look at the Islamic/Arab cultures. In their hard-core believe system it is ok to have disrespect for anything other than your own cutlure and that killing the enemy is like killing an animal (I\'ve studied this as it is also the derivation of terrorism). In some cultures there is no respect for the dead. I\'ve been to places like Haiti, Belize, and El Salvador, and I\'ll tell you, they have no respect for their enemies or the dead. That may be a matter of culture or religion. I\'m just pointing out truths that I\'ve experienced and I\'m not saying all the people within those cutlures and countries are like this, but it does represent the core of many. One has to respect other cutlures for what they are. Here\'s a question: what if the enemy has totally bombed your village and your family is dead as a result? Then you find that pilot who did that. It is difficult to determine what you will do! Respect for someone in a case like that will diminish a lot if not altogether!
I could argue this for hours but I will leave it at that. John is right, this thread should not continue like this as we\'re getting way off the topic.
Excuse my rebuttal, but I couldn\'t help it.
Best wishes to you all,
