<HTML>Robin,
I read that book recently, & found it to be excellent. I never realized that fully 10% of tonnage sunk by Uboats over the whole war was in the carribean. It is a hard to find book, how did u come across it?
Also has good words about Vichy French politics in the Martinques (SP), not taht I give a rip about poolitics, but interesting nevertheless. Learned that the US was preparing to invade the Martins! Also, learned that the US used this area to wrk up DD and Aircraft carriers.
Neat book, one of the best to me.
I also like Peter Cremers book. Neat details about how the French sabatozed (sp, again...) U boats, like putting chlorine into the distilled water supply and pooking tiny holes in the fuel tanks...
