Hi Jim,
So, let us work backwards from 24.07.43 and using a book like Paul Kemp\'s
\"U-Boats Destroyed\" look for all U-boats that were sunk but had a minimum of 9 survivors. Oblt.z.S Herbert Zeissler\'s book was published in 1956 so, presumably, was compiled not long after the war ended.
Whatever the fate of the crew sometimes it is just listed that the crew survived or some of them did. Even with a total loss some names are mentioned of men that had served on that U-boat before its last patrol
