The wreck of what proved to be UB 36 was located by divers as early as 1971 but only positively identified by Belgian divers through propeller markings in August 2013.
Previously recorded fate
Rammed off Ushant (48°42'N 05°14'W) by French steamer Molière. This attack in fact sank UC 36.
