Hi,
I've recently built and painted a U-47 kit from Robbe.
I used hobby spray paints from Humbrol, Dark Sea Gray for the lower hull half and the saddle tanks and Light Sea Gray for the upper hull half and conningtower.
After painting I brushed on a couple of layers with RustAll (www.rustall.com) to give the boat a slightly weathered and rusty look. Finally I sprayed some flat clear laque from Plastic Padding to protect the paintjob.
After I did this I've heard that the deck as seen from above should also have been dark grey but that's not really something that bothers me.
Hope this helps
