Jimmy,
I came across a Doyusha dynamically diving model of U-581 about 4 years ago here in Ireland. Myself and my son had a ball building it and it really worked quite well. It got dropped on the way home from our first day's sailing and the damage was too sever to repair it to diving state , so it was quite short lived (a bit like the real thing really).
I've not come across this kit anywhere since, if you find one I'd appreciate details.
