Hi Larry:

Vom Original zum Modell: Ubootyp VIIC shows the 3 free-flood slots that you are talking about on a early-war Type-VIIC u-boat. I'm building a 1/48th scale DK Models Type-VIIC and the 3 slots are on it. I'm not sure about U-47 though.
