hallo Max,
If you want to build U47 it is correct to have both - the netcutter on the foredeck as well as the one on the stem below the water line (chin is actually and apt description). U47 a pre-war type VIIB was built that way in '39. The pictures you are referrin to most certainly are of VIIC or later types. As of late 1940 the were not building the boats with the cutters anymore. As of late '41 the cutters on the fordeck had been removed from the boats. RB
