I am the designer of Military Modelling magazine and there is a six-page feature on the new Andrea Miniatures' Type VIIC U-boat in Issue No. 5, published on 10th May - I've just finished the layout!

Andrea are publishing a book (Spanish and English editions) on the history of the submarine - specifically German U-boats titled 'Das Boot.' The book also contains a section of the building of the Type VIIC in dry dock with miniature figures, railway wagons, vehicles, the dock gates, a tugboat outside, etc., etc. It's a big 1:32 scale diorama. The U-boat itself in 1:32 scale works out at around 2 metres long.

The hull is in two parts, with new conning tower, photo-etched metal parts for the deck with 8.8cm deck gun and 2cm Flak.

Andrea Miniatures did produce a Type VIIC conning tower some years ago - but the new kit has a remodelled tower.
