Hi Andre,
There is a photo of U83 on page 143 of Robert C. Stern's Type VII U-Boats. It has an even pattern of dark grey splotches with ragged edges over light grey. The dark grey might have been RAL7024 graphitgrau, but could just as easily have been any dark grey they had handy. The light grey was most likely the usual RAL7001 Hellgrau 50. The photo was taken at La Spezia in February 1942 when U83 was operating in the Mediterranean. I'll scan this photo for you if you like.
