hi there,... i know this is a late reply but i have some info that might help.
my friend werner was a torpedoe mechanic on this boat. we built the scale model as well and he said that they were the wrong type of mini sub in the kit. the subs were going to be used for a raid on a heavy russian cruiser in murmansk. the mini subs took water on board though when they were submerged on the way to the target.i have lots of other info on u295 if you need it,.. unfortunately werner died 18 months ago,
