Robert,

I was reading your conversation Mr. Hetherington (sorry for the bit of voyuerism)and see that our interests are Similar. I am a collector of mareine navigational instruments. Of particular interest to me are plotting tools (protractors, parallel rules, dividers, etc.) used by a Kriegsmarine Obersteurerman. I have several pieces in my colection but am always looking to expand (isn't everyone!). I have been trying to conduct research into what types of instruments and tools were used by u-boat navigators buring WW II but have not found a reliable source, expert or written. What I've found I have uncovered from other collectors. Unfortunenately, they, like me are hardly experts. Would you know of a reference that could help me in my information search? Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
