I do have some info on this subject somewhere, but not handy right now ! But what I do remember is that each boat was issued 6 scuttling charges to be distributed throughout the boat if the need arose. These charges were stored in a steel locker that only the cheif engineer could open. Booby traps could be from hand grenades that u-boats also carried ( they were stored in the magizine located under the floor boards by the radio room and control room ) .
