naval intelligence aboard U-boats

I would like some background on the intelligence component aboard U-boats. How many B-Dienst were usually assigned to a boat? Were they officers or enlisted intelligence specialists? What were their duties?

How was the naval intelligence section of the Kriegsmarine structured?

Any help would be appreciated.
