One question about squid: If the ship threw the depth bombs forward, how did it avoid being damaged by the blast? I\'ve read several accounts of escort vessels sustaining damage on low speed depth charge atacks by failing to get far enough away from D/Cs dropped conventionally from the rear. It seems a forward launched D/C would be quite hazardous to the attacking ship.
