Radios and Antennas

If anyone has detailed information on the type of radios and antennas that were on u-boats, I would be very appreciative. I know about the long wire antennas that went from the tower to fore and aft, but did they also have vertical dipoles/whips? What frequencies were they able to transmit and receive on? Thanks.
