Hi Jay,
This time the movies did not lie. It\'s a tin or brass funnel with a handle on it. No electric amplification. You shout/speak into the narrow end while pointing the larger opening towards the one addressed. If you can\'t hear the answer well, it also helps to put the mouthpiece to one\'s ear and listen.
