Pretty much regular stock pots, I believe. American subs used mostly DC, but also had AC systems for some functions. [www.maritime.org] has most of the systems manuals on line now. Make for fascinating reading. I'd love to see someone do the same with u-boat qualifications manuals -- not that I could actually read them. Translated, maybe.
