Hi Woody,
1) Ofc, GHG arranged in a semi-circle above the axis of the fwd. hydroplanes (too small to show up in the scale of your model).
2) No type VII (only a few type IXD2) were equipped with the 'Bachstelze' auto-gyro. The guard rail you see on your model is there to prevent flak-personell on the upper platform being shot at by the 3.7 on the lower platform when shooting forward of abeam.
3) You have my email re deck color when boat was commissioned.
