Operation Dove - Irish Agents

I would welcome any information that might exist on Operation Dove. This involved the movement of two IRA leaders from the United States to the Republic of Ireland.

The two men were to carry out a mission on behalf of German Intelligence to activate the IRA. The men travelled by a U-boat to Ireland and during the journey one of the men died. The mission was then aborted and the remaining man went to Germany and died in 1944.

I am keen to get information on the U-Boat involved and its history. Can You help ?
