That "training manual" (Fleet Boat) was used by sub-school students and was not
available to anyone on board a boat. Now you can down-load it free at"
www.maritime.org/fleetsub/index.html
It was crammed in our heads at sub-school, that air-conditioning on a boat was
not a "CREATURE COMFORT" It was installed to keep shorts and grounds at a
minimum, whether surfaced or submerged.
As far as refrigeration was concerned, we had a cool room (40degrees F) and a freezer (15-degrees F) - BOTH WALK-INS.
Drinking (potable) water from the fresh water tanks was piped through the cool room
then to the "scutlebutts" as chilled water.
We earned our dolphins without the benefit of this mamual. It would've helped.
