Bartek,

This is what I have for the type of small arms weapons and ammunition carried on board the Type IXC and IXC40. 2-Mark 98 rifles, 6-Mauser Pistols, and 5-bayonets.

These weapons were all stowed in racks in the Wardroom, in addition there was one 8mm machine gun also stowed in the Wardroom.

The small arms ammunition consists of the following: 6000 rounds in the No.1 magazine, 768 rounds automatic pistol ammunition and 360 rounds of Mauser ammunition.

This is no to say that more and different types of ammunition and small arms wasn't carried on board. This that is listed above was the STANDARD that was carried for small arms and ammunition.
