WWII questions

I have three questions. Can anyone answer them with accuracy?

1. What are the locations of the known remote uboat bases? Are there any notable expeditions from those bases?

2. With so many advanced uboats in the water at the end of the war, why didn't the Germans put them all out to sea? Was it a lack of trained personnel, or fuel shortages?

3. I have read that upwards of 100 uboats are unaccounted for. Is that number true? If so, what do you believe their fates were?
