Please do not double post. It wastes time for the reader and space on the server.
That said, back to the calculator. The LI had noting to do with the launching of torps, except compensate the lost weight with ballast water. In case of failure of the electromechanical "Vorhaltsrechner" the 2WO had a mechanical (hand crank) machine or a sliderule type as reserve aboard. The latter dates bach to WW1. Values of either would be called fwd or aft resp. for manual input at the tube. Rgds, RB
