According to Miller, U-Boats, the Illustrated History of the Raiders of the Deep:
-Each version was slightly longer than it's predecessor.
-There were differences in free flooding slots.
-There were differences in bridge size and shape.
-From the summer of 43 the Black sea boats had enlarged bridges in order to mount AA guns.
-Type IID had saddle tanks, Kort nozzles, and greatly extended range.
Main engines in all models were twin six-cylinder, four-stroke, Motoren-Werk-Mannheim (MWM) RS 1275, Diesels producing 350HP at 1000RPM.
