Can only provide some information that may be helpful. The Dutch 0-21 type u-boats 0.25, 0.26 and 0.27 were captured and referred to as UD.3 UD.4 UD.5, as you probably already know. UD.4 was used in trials for underwater refueling, however, none of these boats are shown in operational summaries for U boats which actually carried out re supply operations. Interestingly, UD.5 does show up as a boat which was refueled by U-462.
As the 0.21 class was "slimmer" than the XB's which were modified to carry extra torpedoes in containers externally mounted over the saddle tanks, I'd suggest they were carried internally and/or under deck, perhaps some replacing the external rotating tubes.
