What exactly was the format for a radio message being sent out from a U-boat? Since Huff-duff was used to sink so many using triangulation (Well.. sailing down the path of it), could you triangulate or was there triangulation from the paper copy of a message that ended up in a decoded state at Bletchley Park, Kilidini or wherever?

I\\\'m trying to work out exactly how much info you could glean from a message before it was decrypted, or at least the attempt was made.
