She was a 'Modified W' Class destroyer, built by White at Cowes, Isle of White and launched in 1919. She was the same as WITHERINGTON so her dimensions would be 91.44m, 8.84m-beam powered by two screws and steam turbines. four 10.2cm (4-inch) guns and six torpedo tubes. Proportions of funnels reversed compared to other 'V's & 'W's. WITHERINGTON and WIVERN had oval after funnel, built in sideways. (whatever that means)
